METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE ASTAXANTHIN, BY ULTRA HIGH-PRESSURE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY, IN SHRIMP BY-PRODUCTS AND FILMS WITH CAPACITY OF RELEASING ASTAXANTHIN.
The present invention corresponds to the technical field of the food biotechnology, since it refers to a method for preparing low-density polyethylene films able to release astaxanthine using shrimp by-products, and the method for determining the astaxhantine by ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography in the shrimp by-products, said method also being used for determining the amount of astaxanthine released from the films. The method for preparing low-density polyethylene films is also useful for manufacturing plastic matrixes and incorporating compounds such as astaxanthine, from shrimp by-products, for the development of active packings with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.
