PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit an absorbent article having wing-shaped flaps which are wound around the crotch portion of a piece of underwear for use in fixing them to the underwear to be manufactured in large numbers by using few materials.
SOLUTION: The wing-shaped flaps each include a front side outline extending outward from a body portion and a rear side outline extending outward from the body portion. In manufacturing the absorbent article 1, a transverse flow system making the longitudinal axis of the absorbent article 1 intersect a manufacturing line at right angles is used. Regular arrangements and reverse arrangements in which the upper side and the lower side are reversed are alternately arranged, and the outlines of the wing-shaped flaps are decided so as to ensure that the rear side outlines of the wing-shaped flaps of regularly arranged absorbent articles 1 and reversely arranged absorbent articles 1 agree with each other under conditions which make the absorbers come on the same straight line without dislocating rightward or leftward with respect to the direction of the manufacturing line.
