PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a greening base laid under the soil with which a planting layer optimal for plant growth can be easily prepared without depending on any construction expert when laying the soil on the rooftop of a building to prepare a planting section. SOLUTION: The greening base has a water retaining layer 1, a cylindrical through hole formed at the center part of the water retaining layer 1 so as to longitudinally pass through, and a drainage block 3 filled in the inside of the through hole. Several greening bases are laid in a planar state, surrounded with side face blocks 10, and connected with the side face blocks 10 using coupling fixtures to form a greening stage R.
