PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system improving safety in a walking assist device for assisting walking and the like.SOLUTION: The walking assist device is worn on a leg part of a user and applies assist force to assist walking of a user. The walking assist device includes: movement instruction means capable of instructing at least one of a lifting operation and lowering operation and a brake part capable of changing a brake state of a leg joint.
