The present invention provides a use of small-molecule fucoidan to prepare a sensitizing agent for treating lung cancer with radioactive rays, wherein the sensitizing agent is non-toxic and may enhance the effect provided by radioactive rays or reduce the required dose of radioactive rays to be used when treating the lung cancer with radioactive rays. Furthermore, in the present invention, the molecular weight of the small-molecule fucoidan is 500 Daltons or more and 100,000 Daltons or less or the molecular weight of the small-molecule fucoidan is 500 Daltons or more and 30,000 Daltons or less, and the sensitizing agent is applied during the process of radiation treatment or before/after the radiation treatment.本發明提供了一種小分子褐藻醣膠用於製備放射線治療肺癌的增敏劑的用途，其中，該增敏劑不具毒性，且對於放射線治療肺癌時能增強放射線所能達到的效果，或降低放射線所需使用的劑量。
