The present invention relates to a body composition measuring device having an automatic gain adjusting function and a method thereof, and more specifically, to a device and a method for measuring body composition having an automatic gain adjusting function, which irradiate near infrared rays having a plurality of wavelengths towards skin tissues from a multi-wavelength light source unit for analyzing body composition, measure gains of a third photodiode farthest away from the multi-wavelength light source unit, and, based on the same, adjusts outputs of the multi-wavelength light source unit to automatically adjust a signal gain of multi-distance photodiode.본 발명은 자동 이득 조절 기능을 가진 체성분 측정 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 체성분 분석을 위해 다파장 광원부로부터 피부조직을 향해 복수 파장의 근적외선을 조사하고 다파장 광원부와 가장 거리가 먼 제 3 포토다이오드의 이득을 측정하고 이를 기초로 다파장 광원부의 출력을 조절함으로써 다중 거리 포토다이오드의 신호 이득을 자동 조절할 수 있는, 자동 이득 조절 기능을 가진 체성분 측정 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
