The invention relates to a method for evaluating the vision of an individual under certain luminance conditions, from a screen presenting an image (1) comprising a background (2) and characters (3) to be deciphered appearing on said bottom (2). The main characteristic of a method according to the invention is that it comprises the following steps, - a step of adjusting the luminance of the background (2) of the image (1), - a step of adjusting the luminance of the characters (3) to be deciphered appearing in the image (1), said two steps being independent of each other so as to obtain the desired contrast between the background (2) and the characters (3). L'invention se rapporte à un procédé d'évaluation la vision d'un individu sous certaines conditions de luminance, à partir d'un écran présentant une image (1) comprenant un fond (2) et des caractères (3) à déchiffrer apparaissant sur ledit fond (2). La principale caractéristique d'un procédé selon l'invention est qu'il comprend les étapes suivantes, - une étape de réglage de la luminance du fond (2) de l'image (1), - une étape de réglage de la luminance des caractères (3) à déchiffrer apparaissant sur l'image (1), lesdites deux étapes étant indépendantes l'une de l'autre de façon à obtenir le contraste souhaité entre le fond (2) et les caractères (3).
