PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily measure a haloacetic acid concentration in sample water at low cost. SOLUTION: A measurement method for haloacetic acid includes a step S1 of adding nicotinamide and alkali to the sample water containing a haloacetic acid; a step S2 of heating the sample water to which the nicotinamide and alkali are added for a predetermined time; a step S3 of cooling the sample water having been heated; a step S4 of measuring the fluorescence intensity of a fluorescent material contained in the sample water having been cooled; and a step S5 of calculating the concentration of the haloacetic acid from the measured fluorescence intensity. In such a measurement method, the haloacetic acid concentration in the sample water can be measured without using a gas chromatograph/electron capture type detector, so the haloacetic concentration in the sample water can be speedily measured at low cost.
