PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a type discrimination method of Italian ryegrass. SOLUTION: An organella genome-derived single nucleotide polymorphic primer pair for type discrimination of Italian ryegrass and a discrimination method of Italian ryegrass type are provided, wherein the type discrimination method of Italian ryegrass includes, by using a primer pair capable of detecting organella genome-derived monobasic polymorphic marker, amplifying the monobasic polymorphic marker by gene amplifying reaction of genome DNA of the test individual, and examining frequency of appearance thereof to determine the type.
