PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint detecting powder which can collect a clear shape of a fingerprint even from a sample with little fingerprint component attached and a sample having a glassy flat surface.MEANS: A fingerprint detecting powder includes a pigment particle and a calcium lactate. The pigment particle preferably contains at least one selected from a group of titanium oxide, aluminum oxide, zinc oxide, zirconium oxide, red iron oxide, yellow iron oxide, black iron oxide, silica, carbon black, aluminum powder, and copper powder. The calcium lactate preferably cover a surface of the pigment particle. The fingerprint detecting powder further includes a silane coupling agent. The silane coupling agent is preferably n-Octyltriethoxysilane.
