PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling holder which can scratch a seedling off steady while adequately holding the seedling even if the seedlings height is low.SOLUTION: A rice transplanter includes a seedling holder, which holds down a middle part of a seedling, on the lower end of a seedling placing base 33. The seedling placing base 33 possesses ribs 33a for holding a seedling mat 39 where a plurality of the seedlings can be planted. According to the height of the seedling, the seedling holder can change the height of a part contacting with the seedling. In a first embodiment, the seedling holder 40 is configured with a rod body 41 extending in the width direction of the machine body.
