The invention especially relates to a hydroxylapatite/silicon dioxide granularmaterial having a defined morphology, to a highly porous bone substitutematerial based on said granular material and to glass ceramics for use as abone substitute material which is in turn based on said highly porous bonesubstitute material. Said glass ceramics has a variable mechanical stability. The invention also relates to molded bodies produced on the basis of saidmaterial, wherein materials having different mechanical stabilities arepreferably used for the molded body. The inventive bone substitute materialsare characterized by their excellent resorbability in vivo.
