Disclosed are a broadcast signal transmission apparatus using a transmission identifier scaled with a 4-bit injection level code and a method using the same. The broadcast signal transmission apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a waveform generator for generating a host broadcast signal; a transmission identifier signal generator for generating a transmission identifier signal which is is scaled with an injection level code and is for identifying a transmitter; and a combiner for injecting the transmission identifier signal into the host broadcast signal in a time domain such that the transmission identifier signal is transmitted in synchronization with the host broadcast signal.
