Preferably either or both of the core have a taper along their cross section. Preferably the support has a triangular, circular, square, or star (e.g. a three-pointed star) shape. Preferably the apparatus comprises projections 603. Preferably the covering encloses the distal end of the support. The apparatus may be an interdental brush or cleaner or a toothpick. Also claimed is a method of manufacture of said apparatus using injection moulding. In use the stiffer core and softer covering enter the gaps between teeth to remove detritus and plaque.
