To efficiently block loose passage on the surface of an absorbent auxiliary pad and to effectively absorb moisture in the loose passage in the absorbent auxiliary pad.SOLUTION: An absorbent auxiliary pad has an absorber and a liquid-permeable surface material and is placed in an absorbent article. The absorbent auxiliary pad has a columnar shape with flexibility. The absorber extends along a longitudinal direction of the absorbent auxiliary pad and has a side surface in a shorthand direction crossing the longitudinal direction covered with the surface material. The absorbent auxiliary pad has a dimension in the longitudinal direction between 800 mm and 1500 mm. A cross sectional shape of the absorbent auxiliary pad when cut on the surface crossing the longitudinal direction is nearly rectangular or nearly circular. An outer periphery of the cross section is between 95 mm and 140 mm.
