A drug delivery balloon is provided, the balloon having a body having an outer surface and a coating disposed on at least a length of the outer surface. The coating comprises a cytostatic drug and at least one excipient, wherein the cytostatic drug to excipient weight ratio is from about 20:1 to about 1:20. The excipient is selected from the group consisting of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), polyethylene glycol (PEG) having a molecular weight less than 35 kDa, and polyethylene oxide (PEO) having a molecular weight greater than 100 kDa.
