Method of increasing the bulk of a composition, involving mixing an effective bulk increasing amount of the cellulosic arabinoxylan fiber with a composition to increase the water holding capacity of said composition. Methods of increasing the viscosity of a composition, involving mixing an effective viscosity increasing amount of the cellulosic arabinoxylan fiber with a composition to increase the viscosity of said composition.
