Provided is a technique for preparing a composition which after application forms a coating film having excellent properties although the recipe is the same. The technique is a process 1) for producing a composition of the oil-in-water emulsion preparation type which contains an optionally alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymer and/or a salt thereof and further contains a nonionic surfactant. The process is characterized by preparing an oil-in-water emulsion at a temperature higher than the cloud point of the nonionic surfactant, cooling the emulsion to or below the cloud point of the nonionic surfactant, then adding a carboxyvinyl polymer, and thereafter neutralizing the carboxyvinyl polymer with an alkali agent.La présente invention concerne une technique de préparation d'une composition qui, après application, forme un film de revêtement possédant d'excellentes propriétés, bien que la recette soit la même. Cette technique consiste en un procédé 1) pour la production d'une composition du type préparation d'émulsion huile-dans-l'eau, laquelle contient un polymère carboxyvinylique éventuellement modifié par un alkyle et/ou un sel de celui-ci, ainsi qu'un tensioactif non ionique.
