The present invention relates to a connection plate (1) for connecting battery cells for a battery, wherein the connection plate (1) has contact points on a front side and a rear side, and wherein each contact point is designed for electrically and thermally conductive contact with a battery cell so that multiple battery cells can be connected to one another in a thermally and electrically conductive manner via the connection plate (1), wherein, according to the invention, at least one heat dissipating element for dissipating heat from the connection plate (1) is provided in the connection plate (1). The heat dissipating element is preferably designed as a cooling channel (6) through which a coolant can flow. Alternatively, the heat dissipating element is designed as a thermally conductive core layer. According to the invention, the core layer can be electrically conductive. According to one particular embodiment, the core layer can contain at least one cooling channel (6) through which a coolant can flow.
