PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf life improver for foods that has an excellent preservability and has less influence on the taste quality of food.SOLUTION: The powder type food shelf life improver is produced by a production method comprising: (A) a step of heating an ingredient containing anhydrous sodium acetate, acetic acid and highly branched cyclic dextrin, while stirring or kneading, until the product temperature reaches 50-80°C to obtain a mixture; (B) a step of cooling the mixture obtained in step (A), while stirring or kneading, until the product temperature reaches 10-40°C to obtain a solid; (C) a step of pulverizing the solid obtained in step (B); and (D) a step of mixing the food powder preparation obtained in step (C) and a glycine.SELECTED DRAWING: None
