PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platelet-derived growth factor composition and method for treatment of tendon and ligament injuries.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there are provided a composition and method for treatment of tendon and ligament injuries and/or repair of damaged tendons and ligament. There is also provided a composition comprising a biocompatible matrix and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF). In one aspect of the invention, there is provided a composition comprising a biocompatible matrix and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF). Here, the biocompatible matrix comprises pores. The biocompatible matrix has a porosity of at least about 80%.
