PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that prevents unnecessary spreading of stains of menstrual blood or the like on an absorbent article by improving washing efficiency while effectively inhibiting an absorber material from being broken and coming out.SOLUTION: The absorbent article is vertically long and configured to have a surface sheet, a rear-surface sheet, and an absorber arranged between both sheets. The absorber is configured such that a large number of block-shaped absorbing parts are regularly arranged spaced-apart from each other. A leakage preventing groove is formed by compressing and depressing the absorbing parts from the surface-sheet side. Each absorbing part contains pulp fibers and a water-absorbing polymer. The water-absorbing polymer contains an easily-washable water-absorbing polymer that has a carboxy group and/or a carboxylate group, and also, whose degree of neutralization is 75 mol% or more and whose centrifuge retention capacity in compliance with JIS K 7223 is 5-20 g/g.
