The present invention provides a method and system for measuring a pulse wave propagation velocity and an imaging apparatus which can be used by ordinary users on a daily basis, at low cost, and in which measurement accuracy is less likely to be affected by posture or the like. In the present invention, different parts of the human body are simultaneously imaged with a single visible light camera in a non-contact state, and image data that is continuous in time series is acquired. Next, pulse waves in different parts of the human body are detected based on temporal pixel value changes of different parts of the human body in the image data.
