PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submerging type hydroponic unit allowing hydroponics even in natural water in a pond or a river, and to provide a hydroponic method using the hydroponic unit.SOLUTION: This hydroponic unit 1 includes a cultivation container 3 which has an opening part 13 toward the upper side, and is arranged underwater by filling the inside with water, a float 2 which produces buoyancy to keep the cultivation container 3 and a plant 14 cultivated in the cultivation container 3 at a fixed depth underwater, and a connection part 4 which connects the cultivation container 3 and the float 2. A plurality of either the floats 2 or the cultivation containers 3 are arranged in a radial form when viewed from the upper side, and the cultivation container 3 and the float 2 are connected to each other preferably near the center so as to maintain balance. The float 2 is preferably a hollow container enclosing gas for lightness in weight and structure simplification.
