PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support start of a smooth motion of a user after standing up from a chair.SOLUTION: In a life support system, a walking assist robot and an automatic lifting type chair for performing a seating surface movement of a seating surface on which a user is seated are connected via a network. The automatic lifting type chair includes: an awakening degree detection device for detecting an awakening degree of the user； and a first communication part for transmitting awakening degree information regarding the awakening degree of the user detected by the awakening degree detection device to the walking assist robot via the network. The walking assist robot includes: a movement device having a body part and a rotation body, and for moving the walking assist robot by the rotation of the rotation body； and a second communication part for receiving the awakening degree information via the network.
