The invention relates to a process for preparing a plant extract to be used as an active ingredient in dietary iron supplements. According to the invention, the process consists in harvesting Tagetes erecta L leaves while flowering, drying them at temperatures of less than 35°C and humidity of less than 65%, grinding and screening the powder through a sieve having a mesh size of 250 μ m, after which the plant material is extracted twice at a temperature of 80°C, for 30 min, using as a solvent water acidulated with citric acid 3%, at a plant product : solvent ratio of 1:10, the extractive solutions being concentrated and the concentrated solution being subjected to lyophilization at -53°C, to result in an extract having an iron content of at least 900 mg/kg, a polyphenol content of maximum 3.5% as gallic acid equivalents and a flavone content of maximum 0.5% quercetol equivalents.Invenţia se referă la un procedeu de preparare a unui extract vegetal utilizat ca ingredient activ în suplimente alimentare cu fier. Procedeul conform invenţiei constă în recoltarea frunzelor de Tagetes erecta L în perioada înfloririi, uscarea la temperaturi mai mici de 35°C şi umiditate sub 65%, măcinarea şi cernerea pulberii rezultate printr-o sită cu dimensiunea ochilor de 250 μ m, după care materialul vegetal este extras de două ori la temperatura de 80°C, timp de 30 min, cu un solvent apă acidulată cu acid citric 3%, la un raport produs vegetal: solvent de 1:10, soluţiile extractive se concentrează, şi soluţia concentrată se supune liofilizării la -53°C, rezultând un extract ce are un conţinut de fier de minimum 900 mg/kg, polifenoli de maximum 3,5% echivalenţi acid galic, şi flavone de maximum 0,5% echivalenţi quercetol.
