PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin having no feeling of stickiness, having a fresh feeling, being compatible with skin, and achieving an excellent occlusive properties.SOLUTION: An external preparation for skin contains the following components (A)-(C): (A) polyoxyethylene alkyl or alkenyl ether where the carbon number of an alkyl group or an alkenyl group is 20-24, and the average addition mole number of ethylene oxide is 1.5-4 (B) a water soluble polymer and (C) one or more kinds of skin active ingredients selected from an anti-inflammatory agent, a moisturizing agent, amino acids, a whitening agent, a singlet oxygen elimination agent, an anti-oxidant, a circulation accelerator, a sebum secretion inhibitor, an antimicrobial agent, and a keratolytic agent.
