PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse wave detector highly accurately measuring pulse waves, a pulse wave detection program and a pulse wave detection method.
SOLUTION: The pulse wave detector calculates a luminance average, an edge amount in a horizontal direction or a vertical direction, the evaluation value of a luminance distribution, and the evaluation value of the centroid of an input image on the basis of the input image captured by placing a finger on a lens of a camera, calculates evaluation points by comparing each of respective calculated characteristics with a prescribed threshold, determines whether or not the way of placing a finger is correct on the basis of the respective calculated evaluation points, outputs an error when it is determined that the way of placing the finger is not correct, and calculates and outputs a pulse on the basis of signals obtained from the input image when it is determined that the way of placing the finger is good.
