PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gelling agent for use of cosmetic oils which has a melting point low enough to be easily dissolved in a cosmetic oil, can allow a cosmetic oil to gel irrespectively of its type, and can effect the thickening and gelation of a cosmetic oil even when added in a small amount and to provide a makeup cosmetic, a hair cosmetic, and skin cosmetic each formulated therewith.
SOLUTION: What are provided are a gelling agent for cosmetic oils comprising an esterification product among a component (1) comprising one or more 18C or higher straight-chain saturated fatty acids, a component (2) comprising one or more 8-14C saturated fatty acids, and a component (3) comprising a polyglycerol having an average degree (n) of polymerization of 2-15 as calculated from its hydroxyl value, wherein the molar ratio between the component (1) and the component (2) is 70:30 to 99:1, and the total number of moles of the components (1) and (2) is (n+2)×0.75 moles or more per 1.0 mole of the component (3), and a makeup cosmetic, a hair cosmetic, a skin cosmetic, and a lip cosmetic each formulated therewith.
