The prosthesis (300) has a first modular element e.g. cylindrical rod (310), and a second modular element e.g. metaphyseal element (320). A fluid receiving chamber (327) is defined on an interface between the first element and the second element. The receiving chamber comprises variable volume varied based on amount of fluid admitted into the chamber. The second element includes a coupling cavity (326) adapted to partially receive the first element. The receiving chamber is defined in the cavity. A shoulder is arranged between a distal portion and a proximal portion of the first element. The fluid is selected from air, water, liquid solution or an aqueous gel. An independent claim is also included for a surgical kit comprising a modular prosthesis having different dimensioned elements.
