Non-human animal model i.e. pig, with post-embolic pulmonary hypertension for screening e.g. tadalafil, has pulmonary arterial territories with adhesive tissue, where artery to lung is ligated in opposed manner
The model has a set of pulmonary arterial territories, where one of the set of pulmonary arterial territories has an adhesive tissue e.g. Dermabond(RTM: Cyanoacrylate tissue adhesive), and an artery to a lung is ligated in an opposed manner. An average pulmonary artery pressure is higher than or equal to 25mm mercury (Hg), pulmonary pressure of occluded artery is lower or equal to 15mm Hg, and pulmonary capillary pressure is lower or equal to 15mm Hg. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for screening drug candidates on a non-human animal (2) a method for studying physiopathology of post-embolic pulmonary hypertension on a non-human animal.
