The procedures described herein may involve inducing one or more therapeutic benefits using one or more treatment beams. In some embodiments, a series of short light beams with a thermal relaxation time delay to limit the effect of heat to only a desired portion of the eyeball tissue by limiting the temperature rise of the target eyeball tissue. Pulses may be delivered to multiple target locations in the ocular tissue. The thermal relaxation time delay may be approximately equal to the duration of the treatment beam scan between each target location. Such procedures can be used to treat diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, and / or other conditions in the eye.
