The present invention relates to: a pharmaceutical composition containing, as an active ingredient, 4'-O-methyl alpinum isoflavone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and a method for treating skin diseases, comprising administering 4'-O-methyl alpinum isoflavone to a subject in need thereof. 4'-O-methyl alpinum isoflavone can inhibit abnormal hyperplasia and spongiosis of the epidermis and perform anti-inflammatory actions by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines.
