PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire excellent in both of torque transmission performance and shaping operability.SOLUTION: A medical guide wire comprises: a core wire 10 having a proximal end side large diameter part 13, a tapered part 12 and distal end side small diameter parts 11 (111, 112, 113) a multi-stranded double coil 20 mounted to a rear end side of the distal end side small diameter parts 11 of the core wire 10 along an axial direction a single-stranded outer coil 31 mounted to a tip end side of the distal end side small diameter parts 11 of the core wire 10 along the axial direction and a single-stranded inner coil 32 mounted to the distal end side small diameter parts 11 of the core wire 10 inside the single-stranded outer coil 31.
