PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method for producing a citrus essential oil efficiently even in a large scale without using a solvent and an additive, and to provide a citrus essential oil excellent in safety without a danger of "phototoxicity."SOLUTION: The present inventors found that, the essential oil can be recovered in a higher yield than before by crushing citrus skin after squeezing juice by a dry process and subsequently pulverizing by a wet process, followed by steam distillation, to complete the present invention. Further, when the fruit skin is frozen once, a recovery rate of the essential oil used to become extremely poor, but use of the method of the present invention enables recovery of the essential oil at the same or better level compared to raw citrus skin even in a large scale. In addition, the present invention can provide a product throughout the year, which is excellent in safety without a danger of "phototoxicity" warned for a general citrus essential oil.SELECTED DRAWING: NoneCOPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT【課題】溶媒や添加物などを使用せず、カンキツ精油を効率よく、大規模でも実施できる製造方法を確立すること、更には「光毒性」の心配のない、安全性にも優れたカンキツ精油を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】果汁を搾った後のカンキツ果皮を乾式で粗粉砕し、次いで湿式で微粉砕した後水蒸気蒸留することで、これまでに比べ高収率で精油が回収できることを見出し、本発明を完成した。更に、カンキツ果皮は一旦冷凍すると精油の回収率が極端に悪くなっていたが、本発明の方法を使うことにより、生のカンキツ果皮と同等あるいはそれ以上の精油を回収することが大規模においても可能となる。加えて本発明は、一般的なカンキツ精油に注意喚起がなされている「光毒性」の心配がない、安全性にも優れた製品を年間を通じて提供することができる。【選択図】なし
