A device suitable for storing plasma comprises an elongate container having along its length a plurality of compartments interconnected by necks of reduced cross-sectional area. Plasma is introduced in liquid form into the container and then frozen therein. When an aliquot of plasma is required, the container is cut at an appropriate neck and the plasma in that part of the container which is cut off is then thawed, whereas the plasma in the other part of the container is kept frozen for future use.
