PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved fixing assembly for surgical operation, including an elongated component such as an endoscope.SOLUTION: An endoscope system comprises: an endoscope 104 including an instrument channel 112 having an inside diameter； and a fixing assembly 106 including an inflatable/deflatable balloon assembly 108 including a catheter and at least one balloon 108. When being deflated, the balloon assembly can be disposed in a first direction along the deflated balloon axis and, by being inflated, disposed in a second asymmetric direction along the inflated balloon axis that is inclined from the deflated balloon axis.
