The invention relates to a harvester for gathering full- length straw of corn and other crops. It relates in particular to a machine that cuts off the corn and introduces it into a chopping device where it is chopped up by a number of blades mounted on a rotating cylinder and operating against the fixed cutting device. The cylinder is divided into a number of equal segments, and the blades are arranged in replaceable holders. The latter are so designed that they have a well-defined shape, which enables the holders and so also the blades to be inserted in the cylinder in a well-defined way. The blade holders are also designed in such a way that they can be easily and accurately inserted into a grinding machine for regrinding their cutting edges.
