A method of forming a chewing structure using a pair of rollers comprising a first roller and a second roller, comprising: mixing the ingredients of the chewing material to obtain a chewing structure; rolling the chewing structure into a chewing structure sheet having a substantially uniform thickness of about 0.3 mm to 10 mm using said pair of rollers. 2. The method according to claim 1, in which the mixed chewing structure is in the form of an uneven mass of chewing material; wherein rolling involves rotating the pair of rollers in opposite directions to draw an uneven mass of chewing material through the gap between the pair of rollers, and compressing the uneven mass of chewing material to obtain a chewing sheet. 3. The method according to claim 2, in which the compression includes applying uniformly across the web compressive forces to an uneven mass of chewing material to obtain a chewing structure sheet with a thickness variation across the web of less than 10% and with a width of more than about 0.6 m. The method according to claim 1, further comprising smoothing out any irregularities on the surface of the chewing structure sheet using a third roller; while smoothing further reduces the thickness of the chewing structure sheet by less than 10% .5.
