PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boxer-short type disposable diaper capable of preventing leakage of urine from inside thighs of a wearer more reliably with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A boxer-short type disposable diaper comprises an absorbent body 10 and an exterior body in which covering parts around legs are formed. The absorbent body 10 comprises side sheets 14 forming solid gathers. The side sheet 14 is composed of a joint area 31 joined to a skin facing surface of a top sheet 12, a standing area 32 which is located on the inner side of the joint area 31 in a width direction and has a free portion that is not joined to the top sheet 12 at least partially, and an extension area 33 which is located on the outer side of the joint area 31 in the width direction and is not jointed to the skin facing surface of the top sheet 12.
