The two units are connected to each other via a connecting point (7) having a gas connector (8) for the sample, a gas connector (9) for the carrier gas, and a sealing chamber (14) receiving the gas connectors. The sealing chamber is flushed with the carrier gas and has an outlet (22) for the carrier gas. Preferred Features: The supply unit has a sample evaporator (15) for liquid samples.
