PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system producing high pressure which cannot be normally produced by a roller pump or a low-processing accuracy pump because a necessary flow rate cannot be obtained without applying high pressure since the channel resistance of a catheter is high in inserting a cooling catheter into a human epidural cavity and cooling a spinal cord.SOLUTION: In the spinal cord cooling system having the cooling catheter 1 for cooling the spinal cord which is inserted into the epidural cavity 11, a pump 2, a heat exchanger 3, and a cooling machine 4, the heat exchanger 3 to cool a perfusate 5 flowing into the cooling catheter 1 is provided on the inflow side of the pump 2. Insulating pipes 7 having an insulating effect are used for the pipe from the outflow opening of the heat exchanger 3 to the inflow opening of the cooling catheter 1 except the pump 2 portion and the pipe from the outflow opening of the cooling catheter 1 to the inflow opening of the heat exchanger 3. The insulating material is also used in the part where the perfusate 5 and the pump 2 are in direct or indirect contact.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】ヒト硬膜外腔に冷却用のカテーテルを入れ脊髄を冷却する際に、カテーテルの流路抵抗が高いので、高い圧力を加えなければ必要な流量を流すことができない。そこでローラーポンプ、もしくは加工精度の低いポンプでは通常出すことのできない高い圧力を出すシステムを提供する。【解決手段】硬膜外腔11に挿入される脊髄冷却用の冷却カテーテル1、ポンプ2、熱交換器3、冷却機4を備えた脊髄冷却システムにおいて、冷却カテーテル1に流入する潅流液5を冷却するための熱交換器3をポンプ2の流入側に備え、かつポンプ2の部分を除く熱交換器3の流出口から冷却カテーテル1の流入口までの配管、および冷却カテーテル1の流出口から熱交換器3の流入口までの配管に断熱効果を持つ断熱管7を用い、潅流液5とポンプ2が直接的または間接的に接触する部分にも断熱材を用いる。【選択図】 図1
