The present invention relates to polypeptides and their therapeutic agents and compositions comprising the variants of interleukin -37 (IL-37). The invention also relates to the use of the polypeptides and compositions in methods of treating an inflammatory disease or condition. The present invention provides an anti-inflammatory monomer polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of IL-37 monomer.
