The transceiver has a functional assembly (12) with circuit arrangement and direction function for locating people buried in an accident e.g. avalanche. The mobile telephone also has an input key field (25) for programming a selection memory from which another network user can be selected, a microphone, a loudspeaker, a microprocessor for controlling different telephone units, program storage with various control programs, and function keys for activating the control programs.
