PURPOSE: A composition containing Arthraxon hispidus extract for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases is provided to suppress NO and leukotriene activity. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases contains Arthraxon hispidus extract as an active ingredient. The Arthraxon hispidus extract is obtained using water, low alcohol of C1-C4, or mixture solvent thereof. The composition also contains organic solvent fraction obtained by extracting with organic solvent from the Arthraxon hispidus extract. The organic solvent is hexane, ethyl acetate, or butanol. A health food for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases contains the Arthraxon hispidus extract, fraction thereof, or active fraction isolated from the fraction as an active ingredient.
