PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aerosol insecticide whose particles can be sprayed at flying distances of >5m, can attach sufficient amounts of an insecticidal active ingredient to control target insects, and gives excellent immediate insecticidal effects to large wasps and the like.

SOLUTION: This aerosol insecticide which comprises a liquid comprising an insecticidal active ingredient and a solvent and a propellant therefor and sealed in a valve-having container and can release the liquid through the valve in an aerosol state by the pressure of the propellant is characterized by adapting a liquid having viscosity (20°C) of 0.002 to 0.004 Pa s, specific gravity (20°C) of 0.76 to 0.80 and a flash point adjusted to &ge70°C. Thus, the insecticidal ingredient can be sprayed from a safe distance exceeding 5 m to give immediate effects of so-called knock down to wasps within &le1 minute.
