PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage precise position information at the time of scanning.SOLUTION: A medical imaging diagnostic apparatus according to an embodiment is provided with a setting unit and an image generating unit. The setting unit acquires position information of an image capturing system at the time of a first scan of a subject, the position information determined relating to a feature point of the subject in a first image on the basis of the first image generated by the first scan on the subject, and uses the position information to set a scanning range at the time of a second scan.
