PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fungus number inhibiting method which is hard to decompose in a humidifier, inhibits a fungus number in the water in a container of a humidifier, and sterilizes fungi in the air in the dispersion to the air.SOLUTION: A fungus number inhibiting method includes adding, to a water system in a humidifier, a fungus number inhibitor composition including chlorine oxidant and at least one of sulfamic acid and sulfamoyl benzoic acid, or a reactant of chlorine oxidant and at least one of sulfamic acid and sulfamoyl benzoic acid.【課題】加湿器内で分解しにくく、加湿器容器内の水中の菌数を抑制し、空気中に放散する際に空気中の菌を除菌する菌数抑制方法を提供する。【解決手段】塩素系酸化剤、ならびにスルファミン酸およびスルファモイル安息香酸のうち少なくとも１つ、もしくは塩素系酸化剤とスルファミン酸およびスルファモイル安息香酸のうち少なくとも１つとの反応物を含有する菌数抑制剤組成物を加湿器内の水系に添加する菌数抑制方法である。【選択図】なし
