Disclosed are methods, instruments, assemblies, devices, and systems for removing contaminants from air in a space or environment. The humidifier introduces the contaminant trapping substance into the air in the space or the environment by evaporating the contaminant trapping substance. Contaminant traps adhere to contaminants in the air being cleaned. The dehumidifier dehumidifies the air and removes the contaminant trapping substance from the air together with the adhered contaminant.
