The present invention relates to a beta-lactam antibiotic for use in a method of treating a bacterial infection in a subject in need thereof wherein said bacterial infection is caused by a bacterial species characterized by using the mevalonate synthetic pathway, wherein said subject is further treated, before or simultaneously to said beta-lactam antibiotic,with a statin, wherein said statin is for use in reducing, mitigating or reversing resistance to said beta-lactam antibiotic in resistant bacterial populations of said bacterial species.La présente invention concerne un antibiotique bêta-lactame destiné à être utilisé dans un procédé de traitement d'une infection bactérienne chez un sujet en ayant besoin. Ladite infection bactérienne est provoquée par une espèce bactérienne caractérisée par l'utilisation de la voie synthétique du mévalonate. Ledit sujet est en outre traité, avant ou simultanément audit antibiotique bêta-lactame, avec une statine, ladite statine étant destinée à être utilisée pour réduire, atténuer ou inverser la résistance audit antibiotique bêta-lactame dans des populations bactériennes résistantes de ladite espèce bactérienne.
